THE CLASS CONFESSIONS MOVEMENT

Class Confessions pages have been the bread and butter of the first-generation and low-income movement. These pages have given the FGLI community the ability to anonymously share our burdens. Through these pages, we’ve learned of the horror stories such as FGLI students struggling to find food, housing, textbooks, juggling multiple jobs and sometimes even resorting to sex work to get by. These pages have driven some of us to action. We’ve realized that FGLI students need a lot more than financial aid to thrive in institutions of higher learning. Although Class Confessions pages have been instrumental in giving FGLI students a voice and promting action, only few schools have these pages. And of the few existing pages, only few get enough public attention to inspire change. As such FLIP National is launching Class Confessions Central as a way of amplifying our collective voice through these Class Confessions pages. We hope that this will give stakeholders a wide angle view of the issues FGLI students face on a daily basis  with the hope that we will all be inspired to pursue sustainable solutions to these problems.
